Decided to see if the fish would cooperate again in the surf, late afternoon. Saw some sting rays, and a baby leopard shark swimming around my feet. This ray was shoreward of me in 3 inches of water, I saw him get drydocked on the wet sand once. Embarrassing for a ray! Careful out there.

I managed to feel some thunk's and land a handful of bass and halibut on the dropshots, along with a straggler yf croaker.

Baits were pearl fluke and Zman Finesse ShadZ in The Deal color, not that color or perfection of profile matters all that much. Being there and getting something weed-free and wiggly in their face probably counts for 99%.

I cover lots of water, 11'6" surf rod and probably 60 - 80 yard casts with 1.5 or 2 ounce torpedo sinkers. These were the better photos from today's adventure.

    All fish released.

Oh and … here is the delicious sargo I got this morning, he bit the "straight hook"
    (and even broke it!)

Thanks Coach, I've put together another Lost Tape video you may like here.

There are a good number of previously unseen videos exposing the elusive 'ocean panfish', as filmed in their natural habitat. If you don't dive a lot, I think it will bring a new perspective of these fish - zebras, opaleye, sargo, blueperch, and a bunch of different wrasse.

(Luckily, the rest were shot in HD :emoji_face_palm:)

Somewhere around 24 to 30 inches usually.
