    late report
Had a club tournament at El Cap. Hadn't been there in awhile......
    No problem
    Got there a little late.......
    No problem
Driving in I noticed there was no one in the dam arm....what ?
Went to a favorite rock in the dam area.
Pulled out a Carolina rigged creature out of the rod locker.
Fired out and counted it down....about 35ft. Hits bottom.
Tightened it up and.....Splash - a fish explodes on bait behind the boat.
    Then another.....then another....
    Well crap....
Reeled in the Carolina rig ( quickly ) and after rummaging around in the rod locker
Found what I was looking for. Darter head swim bait.
Another fish boiled close...fired out...started retrieve and boom... !!
    I'm on..!!
    Nice keeper...
    Destroyed my swimmer.
Dug around and found the bag.
Threaded a new one on with shaking hands as they were boiling pretty good still.
Fired it out. It hits the water. And boom....I'm on....another keeper.
So this keeps up for a good 20 minutes.
Caught 3 keepers and 4 shorts.
    Went thru 5 swimbaits though.
    That usually doesn't happen.
I can't seem to keep the fish from tearing them up today.
I know- Throw a hard bait.
Put on a topwater... It rhymes with Fun Fish....
    Started Destroying them.
Bigger 3plus pounders were eating the top water.
By 9 am I had drifted about a 1/4 mile and caught 19 fish...some as small as 6 inches...but a few in the 3 plus range also.
I had about 13 to 14 pounds in the livewell.
It slowed way down but I kept catching one here and there but just culling by an ounce at a time.
At noon I went down into the long arm and.....what..?....there's no one on my favorite rock..!?
Dropped down the troller and pulled out the Carolina again.
I had only made that initial cast with it in the morning.
    Lobbed out a short cast.
    Its windy now.
It's difficult to feel but....it started pulling down my rod tip.
I release pressure but it keeps pulling.
So I slam the rod up high and....I'm on...!!!!!
First cast.....lipped a fat four pounder minutes later...
    Hells yeah...!!!!
    Culled out a 2 pounder for a 4...excellent....
Fished there for another 1 1/2 hours and never got another bite....whaaattt..???
    Anywho...excellent Day....
Had 16 lbs and some change...
    I won...
2nd place had 14 and change..
Had to have that Carolina rig fish or I don't win....hhaaa..as a dear old long gone friend of mine used to say.."better lucky than good."

    Congratulations biggbass !!!!!
Very nice job out there and really enjoyed reading your report.........I felt like I was right there with you.
A buddy and me hit that dam arm close to the buoy line on the right side and it was topwater madness
and only one boat was there and we could not believe it left as bass were busting everywhere and we were
pulling there in. Anyway....thanks again for sharing and glad everything paid off for you. :)
    Tight lines always

was there on Monday and fish were boiling all morning. Never left the boat ramp area. Left at 11:00 with 11 fish. Mostly 2 lbrs with a 3.5 kicker. Frog and kastmaster. very skinny water.
