To start it off, we got to the lake around 5:50 welcomed by a long line of boats due to San V being closed. On the water around 6:15. Got the the first spot and started off with a Lucky Craft Gunfish. About 10 casts or so in about a 1&1/2 smokes it! 10 or so cast later about a 2 pounder smokes it! Now I’m thinking dang this is going to be fun! It slowed down a bit unfortunately! However I did end up with 8 on topwater in about 2 hours so over all a great morning! I did have 2-3 fish that just didn’t commit to it as well. After the sun came up the bite shut off! Dang! Threw Carolina Rigs, Jigs, Crankbaits, and senkos for 2 hours with nada. Finally around 10:45 caught 1 on a senko in the damn arm then at 11 caught another one! Nothing after that so we headed home! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

Gotta love topwater in the morning (or any time, I guess). Looks like a great time.

Sure sounds like El Cap....sun comes up, bite shuts down. Can't wait for fall, when the topwater can last all day....hope the ramp is still in the water!

NIce healthy bass! We were there as well on sunday and it was the same story...bite shut off around 10 and the water sports were doubled up that day. Never seen so many out-of-control boaters at one time.

Fishing doesn't conflict with pleasure boating, pleasure boating conflicts with fishing...fact of the day :emoji_wink:
