    Hi all,

My wife has recently caught the bug, and has been out fishing with me on more days than not. When I fish solo, I generally bring both of my saltwater bass rods: a spinning combo for heavier hardbaits/jigs (7' MH Abu Garcia + Shimano Sedona 4000), and my baitcaster combo for throwing plastics (6'6" Shimano Clarus + Shimano Citica 200e).

I'd like to buy her a combo similar to either of those so that I can go back to having one setup dedicated to heavier baits rather than having to tie/untie plastics on it when she's with me. I'm thinking something 6-7', Medium or Medium Heavy action, anywhere from 6-20 lb rated. Baitcaster preferred, but would be open to a spinning combo as well.

So, does anyone have anything lying around they're looking to part with? I'd like to spend somewhere near $100, but I could go up from there on price if it's a solid setup.

    Thanks all!
    BTP

Baitcaster preferred, but would be interested in either. She's used both and doesn't care. I'll add that detail to the post, thanks.

Bang-for-buck, but you might be looking for something more premium grade.

Thanks for the suggestion; have you used this combo in saltwater before?

Yes, did fine in Mission Bay on rays, smoothhound sharks, SBB, YFC, sargo, etc.

I have a couple rods if you're interested in putting a combo together. Both used for bay fishing but in really good condition. Always wiped down after every session.

    Edit: both are casting rods

    Shimano Crucial 7'3 mh xf 10-20lb 1/4-3/4oz $80

Bass Pro Shops Inshore Extreme 7' mf 8-17lb 1/4-5/8oz $50
