As the title suggests, I farmed an embarrassing amount of what felt like nice reds today on the Dolphin PM trip. Lost a good dozen or so due to bad hooksets and spinning them off (I was using my Tranx 400hg, really easy to reel too fast). Had to use bigger baits to weed through the 5inch aquarium sized rockfish. Probably sent down 10 or so of them via barbless hook. Also caught a few whitefish, farmed a few as well, and kept the biggest. Fun afternoon on the water.
3 way swivels my may, no more spinning fish off. By the way, I'm leaning towards going tomorrow but I'm waiting to find out about an interview, I'll let you know hopefully today if you still want to go.
You call that a large whitefish... Jesus man, I went out on the DD and Fred’s been on some quality... I’m just waiting for a sugar bass massacre.
I've been debating on if I want to just take an AM and PM back to back and make fish tacos Friday or take a 3/4 day and chance it on yellows.
Lol never said it was large, just the biggest of the ones I caught yesterday haha. The rest were much smaller. I caught a massive one maybe 5 years ago on my boat and haven’t seen very many that come close so far. I’ll see if I can dig up a pic.
