First off I hope you all wished your mothers happy Mother's Day. I got my mom chocolates and flowers and gave her a speech of how great she is.
After I did that I went to the same spot as the day before and targeted halibut. I put on the 4" White Zman Paddlerz and casted away. I had 2 badly failed bites where the same thing happened. The first time I set the hook and my line felt like it got snipped. Retied another Zman and got bit in the same spot right in front of the rocks. I set the hook and it didn't move much and rose to the top and it was a 25"+ size Hali. But as soon as it moved my line broke. :rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::mad::mad::mad::mad::punch::punch::punch::punch::rage::banghead:
If one of you catch a halibut with a white Zman paddler attached to it return it to its rightful owner please. I kept casting to see if it would bite again but no luck. I do a "last cast" at that spot and get a big bite. I set the hook and it sticks with a lot of weight and big head shakes. I reel it in to find outs it's a gorilla bass.

I keep casting just to make sure no more are around then change spots. When I get to that spot and see some action on top of the water. So I work my bait and set the hook reel it in and it's the target species. Halibut.

I keep fishing before I have to leave and land a sub legal spottie.

I keep fishing a get a light Hali bite let it eat it for a second then set the hook but it only had the tail. I keep at it and land legal spotty #18.

    I more dink.

I had to leave them biting.
It was good session but I know the bites I lost were Hali bites. So I know I could have done way better.
    Overall:
    4 spotties 2 legal
    1 Halibut landed 3 lost

I was using 2/0 gamekatzu superline hooks but I must have dropped the package somewhere. Forgot exact name but they were 3/0 owner wide gap plus hook black chrome. I like 2/0 hooks for those paddlerz. The hook goes through right before the first tail indentations.

Great sesh! Don't be too hard on yourself. I believe you will experience Halibut redemption soon. Nice work!

I really like my sticker on the bottom of my board. It's perfect for solo missions.
