    Working my way down baja and stopped at one of my fav estuaries. Corvina bite was on with a few big fish mixed in. I’ve been able to post 2 of the 3 days on video so far. 3rd day will post when I get some better internet. Corvina were biting everything so I switch to fishing a 7” soft jerk bait and a large whopper plopper. 2nd video may disappoint since I stopped trying to land the fish and just tried to get bit a lot, lol

    catching large corvina like that in January seems like a dream

    Cabo, but stopping in loreto, mag bay and a few other spots. Fished a fresh water estuary yesterday that had snapper, corvina and mullet in it(storm blocked the beach access off and a spring feeds it). No video of that location though.

    Great video man. What a blast.. I watched your Yellowtail on a paddle board video as well. Damn.. If that doesn’t make you want to plan a Baja trip, nothing does. Do you feel pretty safe traveling down there these days ? I haven’t been down since mid 90s, my balls aren’t as big as they once were I guess. Used to love that place but all the talk of pirates and drug lords has kinda sketched me out over the years. I want to go back dammit !

    If you don’t put yourself in harms way you should be fine. I’ve been coming to baja a lot since the pandemic started and everyone has been super nice. Also once you’re in baja sur it’s all retired gringos and Canadians during the colder months

    Agreed… Half the reason we planned our trip years ago was to eat our catch.. I’m sure Bass Kid does the same thing. I brought a small Weber, a baggie of salt, pepper, garlic, and several cubes of butter. A few Coronas, ( a few shots of Almondretto ) made for the perfect night at camp with fresh caught Cabrilla, Dorado, And Triggerfish. ( this was in Mulege ).

    well this will be a post killer, I don’t eat cooked fish . Are so much of it as a kid I can’t sand it anymore. It’s all ceviche, poke and sashimi for me so I’ve got my soy sauce, sesame seed oil, chilis, home made pickled red onions etc. otherwise it’s lots of veggie tacos on the camp fire. No shortage of rum, whiskey and beer though.

    My "want to do" and "have to do's" seem to keep me in a work chair or jobsite way more than a Mexican adventure like when I was in my twenties...
