I fished a Fin S Fish (Lunker City) in my pond two days ago and immediately caught a crappie and a bass. Since the pond is weedy, I knew that a weedless hook would be the best way to go, so I attached a wire weed guard. Fish ate the lure anyway.
But one thing that I did different yesterday was rig the barb so that it came out the bottom rather than the top of the bait. The action was better and the lure didn't go up on its side nearly as much.

All told, a dozen bass was caught on the Fin S in heavy weeds near shore, in open water weeds, under branches along a steep shoreline and in the branches of a fallen tree.

Great job trying new things out, what did you use for the weed guard or did you buy them weedless? I been trying to come up with a weedless I could add to pre rigged lures like Storms Wild Eyes.

I attached AFW Tooth Proof stainless steel, single strand, 27 # test wire.
It's done well for jigheads and bare hooks.

Tomorrow I'll be casting some Zoom Flukes and will report how they do with the weedless belly hook.

Thanks so much for the show of appreciation. On another forum, I shared discoveries and ideas only to be criticized for not being original or stealing some else's I idea. Any idea I post on SD is one I discovered usually by accident but happy to spread the wealth with you fine folks.
