Was out at ocean beach this morning, 08-28-2019 before the incoming tide. Got first bonito hit of the season. Got 2 total, miss one. They are finally here. Be out again this Friday. Happy hunting.

Got bore fishing for mack, so switch to metal slug for boni, after seeing some seal chasing after something, first throw and got the strike right away. They pretty far out from pier.

I like a 1.5 oz splasher and feather on a 9ft. For jigs I like a 3/4oz megabait..seems to flutter to the bottom a little slower than heavier jigs, allowing more time for that reaction bite. I went up there in the late morning, a few macks went for the feather and i had one silver flash follow it in that looked like a bonie. Still no bait in the water yet though. Surface temps are finally climbing higher than 70.. We need this heat wave to continue and bring the anchovies and sardines in closer..then it will bust open. I'm going to hit a first light session tomorrow though and see what happens..

Hmmm this gets me tempted to go out to north jetty with my Lexa and 8 footer (don’t have anything past that lol) to chuck something into the deeper waters

I got 2 on a 35g sniper on a half day recently, they ate it on the drop.

Colt Snipers - Megabaits - LaserMinnows - Tady TLCs

They all work on the drop or a quick retrieve.

I think I’ll focus on Splashing this season
