Launch around sunrise with some fellow yak ninjas. Easy surf on the way out but somehow I still managed to take a small white cap slap to the face to wake me up. Swell was a bit higher then predicted. Made bait easy and went hunting with the pak. Shortly after trolling and tossig my flat fall, spotted some major bait boils, so jayson and I tossed right in, along with another guy near us tossing a surface iron. All 3 on artificials got smacked simultaneously. Went on a nice ride and had a good fight. Made 5-6 healthy runs. Finally put my gaf to use with a nice headshot. All 3 were landed. Both yellows in picture are 34lbs

Nice going guys. Yeah, surf looked a bit risky - but it paid off for you.

Like how the sea gulls are just chilling in the background waiting for potential guts & scraps.

They attacked a bag of sour cream and onion ruffles that washed up to shore :emoji_laughing:

Cyborgstarfish asks a good question. My “so what?” is directed at the results: impressive either way. Do you know how close in flavor these are to the Japanese yellowtail used for sashimi?

I had a buddy tell me they don’t use yellows over 10-15lbs for sashimi. Concept of younger the better meat quality. So I would say sashimi yellows in Japan by default are probably better. Just a educated guess

Dude, you're on fire! To think I blew off going out this last weekend to go back to bed :emoji_astonished:
Was it the flat fall that you were still using into the boil for the hookup? Just picked one up last week after hearing the week before of someone catching a small yellow on one.
