    I caught this little guy in mission bay.. I'm guessing it's some kind of rock fish? Any ideas?

    Caught a Thorny skate with my buddy last night off Shelter Island, I looked it up and it says they're from the Atlantic?

    Bonito right? Are these common in mission? We caught around 2 dozen yesterday while fishing for bass from the tubes. None of them were over 2 lbs but they fought like hell!

    im back with another I.D. request. snagged this guy floating on the top of the water in mission bay tonight around 9:30. there were bait fish everywhere and the whole entrance to quivira basin was boiling. i kinda thought this was a rock fish that somebody threw overboard on the way back in, but i cant really tell. i got a couple more pics if needed

    thanks! I am a newbie here, used to fish in Siberia, so there is no fish that's similar to local species. Already caught here mackerel, calico, scorpionfish, barracuda and halibut...

    Yeah it's a Pacific Bonito, but I can see how you thought it was a tuna. Little Tuna is a nickname for them and they are part of the same family. People have been catching a lot of them off OB pier lately.

    And that top fish looks more like a yellow fin croaker
