No photos, but I saw a fish consistently rising and take food off the surface in MB. If I had my fly gear I'm sure I could've pulled a few.

What kind of fish rises in MB for food floating on the surface?

Had a really slow day at La Jolla on Saturday, the kinda day that you wish for whitefish... lol. Anyone know what the one on the bottom is? it was a lot blacker than the others when it was caught.

Hello. My dad caught this fish on a whole ghost shrimp. If anybody knows what it is, I would appreciate the answer.

Looks like a shiner surfperch, but without a better image I can't tell 100%.

I agree with it being a Shiner Surfperch and the second one is indeed a Banded guitarfish. I’m very jealous of that second catch. Nice!

I agree with the group. Looks like something in the surfperch family. Shiner Surfperch is a good guess. Yes a banded guitarfish. Never even seen one except for pictures. Good catch!

What type of rockfish is this? Haven’t caught many before but I’m pretty sure it’s not just a sculpin.
