What day... while everyone was pileing and fileing into shelter island boat ramp my brother and I went and hit the old faithful ramp that was an absolute gosht town PERFECT!
First off that kings tide was rad the mouth of the jettys were getting rolled over. That's the first time I've seen that myself WOW
We make bait which was almost to easy filled up the live well in minutes... sweet! Our goal was soaking macks for lings Hali's Cali's homegaurds WSB BSB and reds. After making bait we didn't have to go to far so we got to our fishing grounds real fast. And fishing got hot real quick our macks were getting tanked left and right finally got one up and now have a personal best in size/weight (everything) it ate a full Mack I'll let you guess it's weight for yourselves. then another huge Cali and another, and another, and it basically went like that for the next few drifts for us both. Not a single short in fact I'll post a pic of the smallest Cali of the day. It was like island Calico fishing. Then I drop a Mack down and BOOM I'm on to what feels like a swimming anchor.... after what feels like eternity and depleting on adrenaline we see it and it comes to color... it's a (6'-8') 7 gill shark that again I'll leave the weight up to you guys to determine for yourselves. And almost as soon as I finish releasing the fish and calming down from having to bring that up from the deep. The captains on he hooks up to another one a BIG ONE that was very angry. We got it to the boat 4 times before getting our chance at release of it. Back to Cali's (PLEASE) those things can really put up a good fun and long fight. At that point the day has been a success but then a skipper comes over the radio letting everyone know that 8-10lb bones are all over him and invites everyone out. Just like that we're headed west.. to witness some of the most life I've ever seen out on the water. We arrive drop our xwraps in. And fish on. Then a double then another double. There were bird Naidos EVERYWHERE even a foamers popped up right in front of us. But by that time it was a boat yard out there. So we had 3 chubbys each (quality fish) and that's when we called the season. What a way to go out out wide open fishing everywhere and weather to match. Special thatnks to that skipper who called out the bonito bite and to my brother the captain of the boat! Merry Christmas everyone and we'll see you next year! We finished strong! With an unbelievable trip!
Here's some photos for you photo only people!

Bones were a 1-1.5 miles out from green tanks. Others then that we were fishing 100' structures.

That meat (sashimi) looks great! Does not look like Bonito.....I’m sure many would swear it’s Skipjack or even Yellowfin if you didn’t tell them otherwise.

Fish were well cared for. You can tell.
