I don't have a boat, kayak, or float tube. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the best lake would be to fish from the shore?

Depends on your definition of best. Santee lakes is easiest to walk around but the fishing can be tough if you're not using finesse techniques. El cap is good from the boat launch area and is easier to walk to the other side as the water level is so low right now. Some quality fish and numbers at times. Jennings can be good at times and probably your best chance at hooking a truly monster bass. Loveland reservoir can have some great fishing (>100 fish days) but its a hike and the water drain has killed the bite this last year. Lots of options just have to go and check it out for yourself.

that is such an open question with endless answers
the ocean, bays ,river, and all SD lakes and the
imperial valley all have shore fishing
    which is the best ?
ease of access prob santee lake
or imperial valley or the bays
park car step out and fish
will you catch anything maybe maybe not its fishing
what kind of fishing and what are you fishing for
and what kind of shape are you in
do you want to be a youtube internet star
look at me catch fish or do you just want to enjoy
time outdoors. Every lake has shore fishing
and every lake can be great
if you go at the right time of day right time of year
or you're just lucky or a really good fisherman you will catch fish
if not you will just get sunburned. from shore If your expectations
are too high you'll probably be disappointed but you
might get lucky and be there at the right time and be good or very good
the only way to find out is to go
no one can tell you where and when it will be great
it changes from lake to lake day to day hour to hour
the ones on here posting pics of a good day caught them
    because they went

Well I'm obviously asking about lakes considering I said that in my question and since this a freshwater bass forum that might give you a hint about what I'm looking to catch. I've been fishing the bay for years now and I'm trying to get more experience and time on fishing freshwater, I've been fishing the river and have had pretty good luck there and I went to Doane pond last weekend and had pretty good luck with a texas rigged worm and a hula popper. I guess all I'm really looking for is some advice on which lakes you would fish if you had to fish from the shore. Also no I'm not a youtuber but I do enjoy watching their videos. I want to thank Bigjon619 and Nibblesquad for you're helpful advice.

Look... The place has something like TEN THOUSAND MILES of unlimited access shore fishing... Seriously. There are around twelve species or so you are fairly likely to see on the end of your line, at least three of those are the "bass" alluded to in this forum section. Day? Night? No problem... Bait, lures... they both work just fine . Yes, it gets damned hot out there part of the year, and the IV wind machine is something that some bass fishermen would run home to mama about (the reality is you can have incredible days out there when the wind is pounding). It does cost some gas to get out there, as well. It is truly an amazing place though, all said and done...
