I cast with my right. If my reel is under my rod (spinning/fly), I reel with my left. If the reel is above (baitcaster), I still cast with my right, but switch and reel right. Weird, I know... but reeling in a baitcaster with my left hand just feels funny.

My Dad helped build mission bay. I have had some epic experiences there. Great write up.

I used to do the same until I broke my Scafoid(wrist bone) for the third time in my left hand and had to have the bone removed. I had to switch to left hand reels. It didn't take long to get used to it, about a day. Best thing that ever happened for working lures especially top water(walking the dog). I still reel right on bigger game rods because I can stuff the but in my armpit or gut.

You fish like that? My dad taught me to fish on something similar. Except we used 6" PVC and put a dowel in the middle for a handle. I thought it was just a Chilean thing.

Just went through this again, and, can't thank you enough for the information that you have shared. I have introduced two guys within the past two months to fishing and they are absolutely "HOOKED!" One day, I hope you will return to pouring those grubs and jigheads again. We used to crush the fish with your merchandise. Thanks, again!

Haha what's up boss! Haven't heard from you in a while. And yes I will eventually have the lure shop open again, just need to get life in order I guess. Way too much going on. Bring your new guys out to our Shore Pounders events! Get them signed up to SD Fish and sign up for the next event, this Sundays event should be a good one. Only those who sign up get the info, hope to see you and the buddies out there!

When you fish the North Pacific passage, what were you usually targeting?

One thing that I've learned over the years is to listen especially when it comes to fishing. Thank you for sharing this. Awesome!

I've caught my three biggest sargo in MB. Yes Pacific Passage holds them. They are all over. My biggest ones were caught on 3" plastics.
