Where should I park when fishing near the USS Midway? Is there free parking or do I have to go through that pay crap mess over and Seaport Village?

Best bet is the meters that expire at 6 in the eve.. By far the best time, least tourists etc

Why don't you just avoid paying to fish for micro bass and fish for free in MB for quality over quantity? Vinas, Hali's, and nice bass being caught right now in MB.

Could it be he wants to fish some other spots in Bay . Or maybe wants a different view from same piece of water . Hell I just fished Redondo because I hadn’t fished there since I was a kid . Fishermen can get bored launching at the same / place / same beach / even same faces on the water . Some only fish in the day time some only like fishing at night . Who knows guy could have best time of his life fishing near Midway .

Where at in MB? I shore fish and I don't even know where to start there. Never been. Is the mouth of Mission Bay good?

The mouth has a very diverse fishery comparatively. Piece of shrimp fished on a #6 right along the rocks can produce many different species. I've never gotten any production out of it, but Fiesta is a favorite of many. The various coves of MB (outlined in the MB version of this thread, by again the one and only dj thrillz) along the NW part of the bay have been biting really well at certain times as of late. Just sometimes have to be willing to hike a while to find the bite sometimes.

You can start almost anyplace in MB. Like 75% of it's shoreline is accessible. Google maps is your friend. Some parts of the bay are better than others, but it honestly depends what you're fishing for. West side MB good for bass right now. East side for croaker ;)
SD Bay has it's spots right now too, but none from shore that I've heard of lately. All from tubes or yaks.

Plastics on a drop shot, dropper loop, small leadhead; small strips of squid or bits of shrimp definitely help.

That area can be a bit rocky and a bit weedy, so stay weedless if possible.

Thanks for all the help SDFISH....so far no fish at the bay, but yesterday I had a NICE bite in my swimbait, definitely a hali, bit it right in the middle of my 4" swimbait and left a sick bitemark.(note to self, downsize a tad on swimbait) Being new to fishing and not catching anything with about 15 hours spent at MB so far, having a bite was one of the best things I have felt! Motivated, and determined. Will be caught while filming with gopro, so just wait!
