Heading out at 6AM, hoping to get bluefin.

Anyone else going fishing on Sunday? Any reports on fishing conditions right now?

    Thanks!

Keep an eye on that tenpbreak chart. Plenty of paddy yellows coming west of the islands and south..

Thanks. I had used a different site for SST before... This is cool. Almost looks like the local bank might be better than 182 on the 3 day composite SST on tempbreak and the SST I normally use from fishtrack dot com. Will def keep an eye on the temps.

Far more accurate than fishtrack, when it's not too cloudy.

Everything I've heard about the BFT is saying they are chewing afternoon and early evening...

I also was at the 182 yesterday. Nothing, no paddies to fish, no signs of life, water was in the 70's. Went to the 181 and it was a different story. Saw plenty of bluefin but they just didn't want to play. Water was about 71.3 - 71.5 in that area. Went to the 312 afterwards and there were plenty of school on the way there, and also on the way back towards to La Jolla until I was about 20 miles away. Those school were VERY skittish and mostly dove down once they had a clue I was tracking them.

Yeah. Bluefin Fishing can be hit or miss. They seemed to be focused on micro-baits.

Yellowtail is my favorite fish to catch. So I weigh my options …..

    A) Drive 100-150 miles at $4.15 a gallon and maybe catch a Bluefin or

    B) Do what I love and paddy hop and catch a boatload of Yellowtail and make my friends and neighbors happy?

60 miles Round Trip, 23 gallons burned…..Fished from 6am-9am. Back loading the boat on the trailer by 11am….Boat Washed by 1pm…..

The only bad thing about our trip Sunday was listening to the Padres get their arses kicked….

    Plan B rocked!!!!

    Nothing offshore. :(

Went up to 181 first thing at 6 AM and worked out way back in with a tailwind, down to 182 then over to the nine before coming back in. Covered about 90 miles and only saw baitfish, doplhin, a couple sharks, and a dead sealion. Eventually anchored up off pt loma around 5 PM and caught a couple rockfish and a 21" lingcod. Weather was better thane expected and overall a fun day but wish we'd caught some tuna...

They should settle down some with the consistent weather we have ahead of us. What kind of sharks did you spot?

Yesterday the paddies were from the upper 9 ….North

we didn’t go that far north but that’s what I saw and heard which was validated by the Dope.

We got into Dorado just outside of Mission Bay on Sunday. All light line stuff. We were back on the trailer by 930am. That is how good it was. All live bait. You just need to find the right Paddy. I know there are spread out from South to North. Inside of 20 miles.

Pretty amazing Summer. Bluefin and Dorado within 10 miles of the beach. Not bad for a L
Pretty incredible to get into Bluefin and Dorado less than 10 miles off the beach. It is a La Nina year and look at the fish we're are getting.
