Word on the web is that the 2020 Fliflicker is scheduled for Jan 2020. I've never been, but I guess it's an unofficial gathering of fly anglers fishing SDB and meeting up for lunch at Glorietta park at 1PM. So grab your tubes, yaks, sups, and skiffs and let's sling some feathers and fur. It's gonna be a great tide!

I'll be there with my Solo skiff and my new Thomas & Thomas Exocett rod. Going to be a blast - I'll probably make smoked ribs for the potluck...

It was just a matter of time. Next Kai will have a van with draws and draws full of fly fishin stuff. He's all in now, well almost. He still has conventional gear.:)
Congratulations on the new gear Kai.

A reminder that this is going on next Saturday. I plan on tubing Tidelands and making my way south under the bridge. It will be my first time tubing this area, so if anyone would like to join and show me the ropes, that would be much appreciated. Creek ? captwoody ? mistercameron ?

Next Saturday the 11th? Ya, I can run the usual route with you. Shoot me a PM when you're firmed up on all the particulars. I dont really wanna be huddled in a small space with forty other guys throwing flies.. but if you want to break away from the herd, I'll show you the hotspots that my mentor so graciously showed me over the last few years.

Neuroshima !!! So I'm just re-reading this stuff.. sounds like alot of guys are launching at Glorietta (?) and making the trek toward the bridge. Thats a little nightmarish for a float tuber and his tired legs.. the tide indicates a steep OUTbound tide.. so if we launch at Glorietta, we will be fighting strong water trying to get back to Glorietta.

So since you want to fish Tidelands anyway, lets just meet at Tidelands, launch from there, fish the usual route that we will show you, and then let the outbound water push us back to the Tidelands launch. Sound okay?

That was my thought exactly. Fish Tidelands and maybe meet up at Glorietta park after for the BBQ, or not.
