Watched a clip about how they have the same abrasion resistance between the two. But also read flour leader material is stronger an meant to be used in short segments. So the question is has anybody switched from using the small seaguar rolls to just buying a 250 yd spool of flouro “main line” material for there leaders.

Dude I’ve always purchased the regular 200yd spools of fluorocarbon to use as leader. Those small coils are a rip-off!

They must be better, after all, they cost three times as much!

What are we talking here, salt or green bass fishing???
Theres 100% floro & floro coated line.
For green bass fishing some people do fully spool their reels with 100% floro line. I just use a 100% floro leader as everything I fish is crammed full of braid.
Salt water fishing you just use 4-5 feet or if you want use the entire 25yard spool but really just a waste but sometimes the longer floro leaders get bit better in some scenarios.....

Neither or both. He was asking about the Fluoro that is sold in small quantities and called "leader material".

Its the same line. Buy a larger spool and use it for more than leader if needed.

I usually by a 200-300 spool of floro clear for spoons and blades. Then the rest, it becomes leader line or extra line if someone needs it or I ruin mine out on the water. Always buy more than you need if you can. Matter of fact I just got a 200 spool this afternoon. 20 pound seagar. Why seagar? Its what they had left in the pound test I wanted...
