I have not been fishing as much do to schedule restraints and less afternoon daylight after work but had a chance to fish one of my favorite lakes.

Got them early before the sun rises over the hill.Once the sun was fully out the bite was virtually over. They were liking the trigged MM3 6" robo.

Ha ha the last word in the title gave the location hint right away.

If you have to guess you must sharpen your thinking skills.

30 years ago, it would have been "found a little trespassing". Fishing was really good back then. I never went but had friends that told me you could catch bluegill on bare hooks if you 1st chummed a bit with worm pieces. Also heard 1st hand stories that the dam keeper would shoot at you and slash your tires if you parked on the side of the road. Eventually some guys beat the crap out of him and put him in the hospital. Wished they would open it to float tubes, would be so awesome to fish it that way.

    Nice pics.

A guy I knew was driving home from work and had a flat tire near the lake. He got ready to change it out for the spare but the spare was flat. So he rolled the spare a few miles (pre cell phone and pre Uber days) to the nearest gas station and had it aired up. When he finally got back to his vehicle, all 4 tires were flat.

My memory says it was Elton who sliced tires and Clem who would shoot not at you but around you near the waters edge so I’ve been told

Myself and my buddies fished Loveland in the late 60's and into the late 70's all the time Clem was a real pain in our *** period. We were shot at real close too while hiding in the brush more than once waiting for him to leave .He would pop your hood and pull your sparkplug wires off of your engine quite often on the vehicle that was left on the road , I had to install a padlock on the hood latch of my 1972 Ford pickup truck. I quit parking at that area and I would drop my buddies off at the the bottom of the hill, where we would enter the lake with all of our tackle and live shiners. Then I would drive up the hill towards Carve Acre and park my truck off the road . I would take a bicycle with me in my truck then ride the bicycle and later a Mini Bike down the hill and hide it in the brush at the east end of the lake, then use it to ride back up the hill to get my truck after fishing and pick up my buddies and our gear. We never got caught Poaching but many close calls with Clem harassing us and wanting to chase us out of there . Later on after years of fishing there I would have my wife drop us off early in the mornings and pick us up at a pre planned time later on the road to avoid leaving a vehicle on the road anywhere at the lake and having Clem harass us. We sure did catch a lot nice fish at Loveland back in the day great memories .

Duh! Been posting reports on here starting back in 2008. A good majority of those reports have been from this lake.NO BS reports and I have named the lake on almost all those reports just check the archived reports for verification if you may.

Now with that being stated its nice when people who have posted on this site and have contributed knowledge and decent reports and have viewd my reports as far back as 2008 get a jump start on a lake before everyone and their mother clog it up.After all if you contribute you deserve the first dibs on merit alone.

Seriously most people who have contributed on this site know were I mostly fish.

For the record I know we're that lake east of Romona is and the name and it's not half way to Yuma.

By the way seen this kayaker dude out who just talks and talks and talks it does not make for me a peacefull fishing experience so I tend to avoid talkers when fishing.

While we are on the subject of outstanding fishing spots, anyone ever fish Sweetwater before it opened? At least the folks patrolling that were more polite, just giving a verbal warning to 1st offenders. I would have to take the 5th on any details though. Fishing crashed within a few weeks of it opening.

Poaching seems to be too strong of a word for unauthorized catch and release. I prefer to think of it as just giving the fish a good exercise session.
