    Good Ol’ Montana....

Had my annual trip up there, went for three weeks and did some fly fishing, and freshwater.

Frogs and swimbaits were my go to. Big clouser flys as well.

Pike and bass were going crazy. Unfortunately no huge bass this year, but lots of 3-5’s.

Flying out later this fall to look at wedding venues, and will hopefully do some damage on the trout at that time.

First year that I’ve actually tried top water there. Used to throw senkos all day, but after my first pike and bass off the frog I was hooked(no pun intended). I knew I could have gotten way more on a t rig but swimbaits and top water were just too much fun. Minus my horrible hook up ratio on the frog... anyone out there have advice with how to have better hook sets?

Very nice fish, a lady co-worker went about two weeks ago she was fly fishing and said she had multiple days of twenty trout days, of course I’m really jealous.

The fly fishing is insane up there. My fam has property close to Yellowstone, and my girlfriends family has property close to glacier. Both areas are super fishy with trout- glacier area you can have 100 + fish days but tend to be a lot smaller sized trout while the Yellowstone area you can have some easy 20 + fish days that are all quality cutthroat, brownies, and rainbows. And the lake fishing is insane as well for bass and what not. Paradise for sure.
