First, thanks to everyone who replied and gave me feedback.
Second, I’m far from a mechanic and I learned a lot through this.
Issue, the boat would cut out after a short time on plane.
The story, I found a leak at the fuel tank so I replaced the connector.
The boat still had issue so I went down the line check each area, making phone calls, posted on forum, went to anglers marine and sunset marine for some advise.
Primer bulb would go flat but re-inflate after a while. Primer bulb replaced. Still same issue. Maybe filter was bad so I ordered what I thought was correct, the housing would not fit but the internal filter was good so I swapped them out.
watched a video about seeing if the fuel pump is pushing gas to the carburetor. I did that and fuel was coming out but very slow. Took video of it (sorry don’t know how to upload that to this sight) and showed this to guy at sunset marine. He said It looked very weak and could need to be replaced. So now I’m disconnecting stuff from the motor to get to the pump. I pull the pump, look on line and order a new one. Paid a little extra to get the part faster. I get a email reply from site I ordered saying they are backed up and it will take a while with no idea how long. I’m a bit pissed about this. Trouble sleeping a few nights as this issue has my mind on it all the time.
I forgot to mention I also emptied the fuel and replace with top quality fuel. Noticed the tube had a kink in it so I cut it a bit.
Just to explain the frustration how I’m feeling, each time I did some thing to the boat I went back out to the lake (el cap). Connector replace, launch. Primer bulb, launch. Filter, launch. Each day the same result.
So sleep deprived and waiting for my pump I’m up early and restless. I decided to go back to the boat and try something else. Why not disconnect the line at the tank, pull the connector off so I have a straight fuel line and place it in the tank and see if the fuel flow becomes better. When I take the connect off I see a blocked fuel line. What is this? I cut the line and slice it open and see that this fuel hose has an inner thin tubing. So when I put on the new connector the old thin inner tubing is so weak it just collapsed inside the hose. No way I would know this. So I made the problem worse when I changed the primer bulb as the same thing at both ends of the primer bulb.
I was a bit excited so I raced in town and bought some new fuel hose and replaced it. I then did that fuel pump test and the fuel was flowing like a river.
Now I have everything buttoned back up and will be heading to the lake later today to test. Wish me luck.
BTW- I did cancel my order for the fuel pump

Damn. I assumed that when you replaced the primer bulb you just went ahead and bought the whole kit with a new line of it. Man that has to be it!

    Fixed!!!!
That blocked hose was the issue.
Hit the lake at 1pm and off by 330pm.
Drove around a lot and just enjoyed the boat ride.
Did fish a bit and got 5. Worming, jerk bait and punching the thick trees.

Yup! Clogged line before bulb = collapsed bulb. Stoked you found it. That’s the problem with just replacing parts without diagnosing, you won’t know what was really wrong and you can waste money.

I feel lucky to only have spent about $55 that should have been about $10. Could have been worse at $180 and still not be fixed. The good news is I have a spare bulb and filter. The great news is that I learned a lot.
