Here in Ensenada our bay seems to have changed in the last week or two. This entire year we were catching more halibuts than anything else. Usually reaching double digits on halibuts. The spottie bit has been off for some time now. Last Wednesday I went out and hardly caught anything. So something weird was going on. Now suddenly this week there are 0 halibuts and almost all large legal spotties. It's crazy how fast a bay can change from week to week. I would say that I caught about 20 spotties today and about 15 of them were legal. All were released. I also caught this ugly midshipman on a keitech the second my plastic hit the water in an area that is 20 feet deep. So I thought that was kind of strange as well. Anyway, below are some photos, and I also made a video on youtube if you are interested: My First Midshipman, Ugliest Fish Ever! Also, A Lot Of Legal Spotties. If you like the video please subscribe. I do a bay fishing video every Wednesday down here in Ensenada. :)

Damn must be nice to fish in waters with spotties like that. Nice job on the midshipman too, I like catching those.

I think the snakehead issue is more because they are an invasive species that are destroying the sports fish population. If they could live in harmony without upsetting the balance of things, people would have no issues with them since they are fun to catch, grow really fast and can survive in dirty low oxygenated water.
