Tough to tell from that angle. Fish always look bigger with that type of shot. No way to determine length. But, you are a solid bass guy judging by your reports. So, you would not have bothered to ask the question unless it was a good one. He can’t eat your hand so I will go with 5 to 7 pounds. Did you get him on plastics? How deep? Water cleaning up at all? Fished LJ on Saturday and got into some really nice Rockfish in under 200 feet. Kelp up there was still off color but clean in the deeper water.

Ya on plastics. I don’t do live bait. I fished 20-200 the whole day. Water quality was the best I have seen in a bit.

I'm not sure it's even worth trying to get a reasonably accurate guess from that type of angle.

Your hand looks pretty big in that picture so I'll say that the fish looks 2 to 3 pounds bigger than it really is.

So.... that puts your fish at maybe 2 to 3 lbs. That's just my guess.

That’s certainly a nice fish. Hoping to stick a few nice calicos this year.

Did you get it on live bait or a lure?

Btw, that’s a pretty interesting looking boat from what I can see of the bow. Kinda looks like a homemade dory or something like that.

    On a lure.

She sails in the summer, and fished year round. A 1980 hand made 17.5 ft sailboat.

Lol. If you’d ever been on my boat you’d understand that leaning on something is ideal. If not, you have a higher probability of falling
