10.6. Thats a healthy, young fish. Obviously lives in a trout fed lake and probably hasn't dumped her eggs yet.

Even though those pics are dificult to judge, you have to notice how small the mouth is compared to my hand. It just goes to show that most people overestimate their fish. If you guys were there and actualy held the fish I am sure your guesses would be much closer and nobody would have guessed 10 but I bet most would have said 6-7lbs
The fish was exactly 5lbs. Its kind of small to post but I knew after I saw the pics that I would get most of you:)
It also goes to show that a 5 is still a big bass, it just doesnt sound big.
BTW I am not pretending to be a perfect fish weight estimator, Thats why I almost always have a scale.
Next time I will catch a big one and try and make it look small.

The first pic makes it look big(besides the mouth). In the second pic you can't realy tell the length of the bass because of the angle. The second pic makes the bass look only 12-14 inches which we all know its not. Good thread!! Keep it come'n.

I didnt try and make it look big or small, thats just the way they came out holding it like that. I am sure I would have guessed high too

This has got to be one of the more fun posts I have read in a very long time.

Great job. You're right, a 5 pounder is a great fish. No one in here can say they wouldn't want to catch a 5 pounder each time they went out.

this kinda helps with the post that i have of the fish at lindo, it shows that a fish can look bigger than it is in a picture.
