After wifey ruined last weekends beanstalking plans, I decided to take today off(since she left for Cambria again). Hit Torrey Pines this morning, started on the south side and spied some amazing structure right out front, matter of fact I’ve never seen as much structure at Torrey as I did today, ever! I didn’t venture too far south due to a bunch of rods being soaked, so I spent 90% of the time on the north side. Finding crabs was a little tough, but I got plenty of sandwich makers before I started finding the quarters and even half dollars I was hoping to find. My first crab sandwich got rocked, so I knew the fish were in the area. I didn’t get hit again til I started finding large crabs. First large crab, 20” bean!

Second bean was about 18” but pretty hefty.

Not too much happening after 9:30am so I called it around 10:30am. It was slow today, but mission accomplished. High expectations after seeing all the structure up and down the beach!!! Thinking about a sunset sesh....

NICE! I scratched that same itch a little further north today too. Did you get em in the skinny?

Nice, man! Next time at TP try going south past those rods. Loads of crab beds and some big ‘ol tails flipping up in the skinny lately.

Nice to see you in the surf forum! LOL!

    Cheers, bud!

Nope, didn't see a single slider, or cruiser. They were outside the holes on the side the current entered

Every summer I try and visit the surf forum. The whole COVID thing had me wondering if I was gonna get any chance at all.

I've always done way better on the north side. I've done very well at blacks, or anywhere south of flat rock, but from flat rock to the inlet, I bet I’ve only caught a handful of beans. Whereas the north I’m well into the 100’s.

The structure is quite hard to miss, never seen this much of it there. Most my action came from in front of the big wall 1/2(or so)mile north of inlet.
