Per usual, I came out to San Diego with a fishing mission. My uncle who fishes for Fluke a lot in NY was going to be coming to San Diego on my family trip (this trip) and I wanted him to catch a keeper flat fish out here in San Diego so I spoke with aquaholic and we decided to try and make that happen. But first I flew to NY with my own goal out there to get a legal Fluke (their resident flat fish) 19" with said uncle. So we spent 4 days going for that goal. He said it was the wrong time for tides and such but we would give it hell on the party boats. On the last day goal was accomplished. (First picture) not a halibut. Was about 5 lbs way over 19 in. What they call a very good fish and won me 190.00$ for the Jack pot. Then on to San Diego. I also made a mission to catch my first mission bay legal. So we rented a boat (aquaholic included), got bait and went out to make it happen. First day, Monday, total of 4 halibut all over 17" my uncle though within the first 2 hours caught the only legal for the day. 23.5 in (2nd picture) I couldnt be happier that I was able to bring him to SD and get a legal hali on his first trip. Tuesday back at it again was terrible 1 halibut about 17" and a lot fewer bites. (3rd pic) then the 3rd day, Wednesday uncle decided not to go out with me and aqua so we invited Ramrod he accepted and we went out and had an awesome day the bite was on. 6 halibut lots of rakes I got a 21 7/8 which was a double up with ram rod (4th pic) his was probably 19" mine was a heat break. Both Of course released. Aqua got the fish big of the day at 26" (5th pic) we then went out for a 4th day (thursday) hoping to re-pete that did not happen. 1 halibut all day about 12 in. The rest of the pics will all be the shorts and by catches many others caught sculpin and spoties not pictured but we were on a mission for halibut. Oh and a white sea bass for aqua. Was a blast big thank you to aqua for everything. Good luck and tight lines everyone.

Nice haul! Great to complete the bicoastal legal flatfish challenge!

If aquaholic is in the boat, fishiness is multiplied!
