Don't you love it when the pit bull owner gets MAULED TO DEATH, instead of an innocent neighbor kid?
(In this case, while they were being held in quarantine after 'attacking someone')!!!

Hey kids, let play Russian roulette with an animal and buy a pit bull.

Any dog that remotely looks like a pit-bull does not make me want to be near it.

Its all in how the animals are trained/raised... Had two pit bulls growing up, and they were the softest, cuddliest bricks of muscle I've ever known. Loved any stranger, too.

Have only interacted with several friendly, cute examples of these dogs, so I can't say that one way or another that they are dangerous. I guess the only thing that I can agree with, is that physically, they are designed to be able to attack and tear things apart efficiently, so that inherently makes them more dangerous than a poodle.:emoji_thinking:

I partially agree with this. Partially disagree as well. I think the way animals are raised play BIG time in their temperament. I used to always jump to 'blame the parents' but more and more lately I'm not trusting any pits/pit mixes. I'm such a dog lover and that avoidance goes against my love for the animals but man, the more I'm around the breed, the more I'm convinced that some of them are natural wild cards no matter how they're raised. I've seen calm dogs just flip out of nowhere. My family raised Rottweilers when I was little and we would wrestle with them on the ground. Hindsight, I'd never let kids do that even with the family dog if it's a large breed.

I'm thinking I'd much rather take my chances with a pitbull than with you towing your boat/trailer around unserviced for over a decade. You knowingly hit the highway with steel belts protruding from your tire while your trailer noises had gotten worse. You put so many people at risk of becoming a statistic for one of the leading causes of preventable death in this country. You gambled with everyone's safety and put people directly in harms way... but yeah, those damn pittbulls and their owners haha. You've got to be kidding me

    I
I knew someone with a chihuahua - went down to pet it and it freaked out - showing teeth and rapidly barking and snapping - but retreating as well. I pulled my hand away immediately thinking I might lose a finger.

I'd take a chance that a flat tire on my trailer would not chase folks down, grab them by the throat and rip it out. Give me a break. As stated, I'm glad the owner got mauled to death, rather than some innocent neighbor, which in this case, HAD ALREADY HAPPENED as the dogs were in quarantine for it. I think that when they kill an innocent, they should put the owner, and the dog, down. EVERY month it's reported these dog KILL!!!! And that's a damn shame.
Get a clue that this breed should be eliminated.

That makes two of us, agreed! They are time bombs, not all, but many, and that's all one needs to know.

It's part breed and part enviorment. My neighbors had a few pits. Really sweet dogs however one had a spot on it's neck that if you got near it would become extremely aggressive. In my line of work I have been bitten and chased by all kinds of breeds. Shepard mixes are responsable for most of the bites I have received. I had a pitty that was sweet until I tried to do my job then he would start growling and snapping at me. The owners didn't believe me until there son happened to be home sick and saw the dog trying to bite me. He was shocked. The most aggressive attack came from a customers pet wolf. I am not kidding. It was a freaking wolf. They kept it locked up between a certain time so I could get in and out. Her boyfriend got stoned and forgot to lock the dog in. It came out lightly grabbed by shirt, pulled on it gently, let it go, then aggressively clamped on my leg and tried to pull me down. The boyfriend couldn't get him off. I had to dig my fingers into his eyes to get him to back off. He backed off and regrouped for another attack. I grabbed my screw driver and hammer and prepared to kill the dog. Thank God for both the dog and me the owner grabbed him and wrestled him inside before he made another run at me. A lazy stupid dog owner was responsable for that one. If you have a known aggressive large breed dog you need to work with them to change that or put them down.
