Got there around 12 but didn't fish until around 1. It was hard finding a spot that wasn't full of dead trees or sharp rocks. Found a spot near Hernandez Hideaway that looked promising and set up. Hooked up on a decent one within 10 minutes but got me snagged and broke off. Hooked another one but that one also broke me off. Left once it started showering. I was using a packbait made of oats, sweet corn and molasses. It was a last minute thing so I was unprepared, left my pliers and a container for the packbait at home, had to mix in it the oats container. Was a mess but I don't think the carp care much about that. Gonna try again next weekend but this time with something like 14 lb and not 6 lb.

    Hodges is very very snaggy.

I fished shelter island today. Could’ve/should’ve gone carping instead. Would’ve been safer and probably stayed out there longer. I started slipping on the rocks when it started raining in the afternoon and decided to get the heck out of there! :)

San Diego bay water color isn’t too bad at all.

That is an understatement. Use heavy mainline and lighter leaders.

That lake eats tackle like candy.

The snags are hellish. Tightening drag down and securing your rods really well helps.
