It always is! The article says the lake will be closed to fishing because of the mud along the shore caused by dropping the water level....but, it also says that biking, hiking, and walking around the lake will be allowed! So, if you're doing one of those 3 things, the mud isn't a problem...only a problem if you're fishing...that's Steer Crap, fisherman being screwed again, bend over!

The article also says they may end up wasting some of the water by sending it down to the ocean..because they're too stupid to figure out how not to waste it, during this supposed terrible drought.....!

I did grow up next to Lake Hodges and I do know that when it recedes mud is dangerous there. I had days where my buddies and I would get stuck up to our thighs and have to run and grab a piece of plywood to pull the stuck person onto. But to still allow everything else is just plain blah. If people are stupid enough to get stuck (my hand is raised for that one) then let them. Oh yeah, I forgot it’s 2022. It would be the fault of the city not of the person who got themselves stuck.

Survival of the fittest? A few years back the water at Barrett was so low that the mud was treacherous! They did not close the lake, and the fishermen learned to deal with it.

Or, instead of fishing in mud, look for rocky areas! The whole bottom isn’t all mud, I know that for a fact too.

Gosh forbid they build a small rock and earth dam on the I-15 side of the lake and just pump it there. It’s already dry and may soak into the ground a good part but it’s better than in the ocean. Plus a lake bed is already there. Just a thought.

Totally! When the crappie hotspot was under the bridge too. We’ve got all that area let’s fill it up!

Problem is they are listening to the Army Core of Engineers and they say the dam is to old and they can't fill it past 60% of capacity

Then let’s just build the new dam a hundred yards downstream like they’ve already said they were going to do. And then make it bigger than the last one like they did with San V. Water is too precious to just waste dumping it out. But I’m sure that was never a first option.

Hodges Dam is suspect. Yet all the much older Dams in the Eastern US are all good? For lakes 100 times bigger than little old Hodges. Perhaps they can fill San Diegito and open it up to Float Tubes and Kayaks.

The politicians in California could care less if we have water! An example is how they are encouraging building when there isn't enough water to go around now! They just want to ration your water while pushing contractors to build more housing. This, while California's population is declining! I imagine that doesn't count the millions of illegals that cross the border every year! We should of been building new dams all over the state the last 50 years, but the politicians were too busy kissing the butts of the environmentalists and tearing down the dams we have! Screw them all, I just pray my well doesn't run dry!
