Fished or attempted to from 7-12 on Saturday with a buddy. Did the trolling motor boat rental and tried it all, drop shot, t-rig brush hogs, worms, pitched jigs and square bills all up close to fishy looking cover. Did not get a single bite. Water is still really stained (1ft visibility) and high 50's estimated. Fished the cove before the Narrows, the area across from the launch and the tulles and trees to the right of the rental dock. The docks were left stranded out in water after the water was drawn down so rentals took an hour to get going. Barry and the am crew were great with getting everyone, mostly crappie fishermen out at least. Didn't hear anyone catching anything when folks were coming back. Going to wait until conditions are more favorable to come back.

Same with me. I shored it from 8-1 and the only bites i got were from the twigs and bushes. Fished a half-mile stretch. I did have shad jump out of the way of my swim jig on the retrieve.
No one i talked to caught any. This week's warm weather will change stuff, it has to.

Painful to get skunked on a lake that looks so stinkin fishy! They will eventually show up...conditions are just too good...except for the mud and cool water!

There is so much new cover for these fish to setup and ambush bait, I am still amazed how nothing bit our offerings.

I have so much hope for that lake because I keep one thing in mind at all times...the fish have to eat!

That goes for everywhere actually haha

I fished from open till 2pm for nada bite. I did mark a massive school first thing around 15' that I should've stuck with, but I was dead set on throwing blades in the flooded timber. We threw everything fro top waters to deep divers for not a single bite. Surface temp was 50* at ramp, 55* in the back at 6am. It warmed up to 61.5* by 2pm. That cold front killed the morning bite. It was 36* outside while waiting for the gate to be opened. Had to scrape ice off the truck in the am.

Did you dip those? I have tried to dip shad that are right at my tube. Those things are crazy fast!

It was fun getting out there with BassinNova. Learned that my pitching jigs needs work. I was using 20lb straight braid. Nice to throw it anywhere and not worry about getting broken-off. Weather was great just wish the fish would have cooperated. We even got stopped by the DFG to have our fishing licenses reviewed.

fishormen - yes, as early as possible at dawn with a large shad-net, if you are lucky enough to find them balled up against steep banks or tules. Shad are one redeeming factor for Hodges, because I usually find the fish to be super finicky!

I don't know if there is water up on the flat near the spillway but they used to be right on the shore up tight and you could just snag them and then cast, I don't know if there is water on that flat I've been wanting to go check but no time and most of the people I've asked haven't been up towards the dam
