As many as you want as far as I know, unless a pier has their own set of rules maybe...

You can bring as many as you want but I think the regs say that you can only have 2 lines in the water at a time? Please correct me if I’m wrong.

The rule about extra poles only apply to fresh water. Nothing about salt water. I asked one day when they checked my license.

FYI when it is that season, a hoop net counts as a line. So you can soak a ring and only fish with one other rig.

OB Pier has a sign that says 1 rod in the water at a time...law specific to that pier. Not sure if it's an old sign that doesn't apply anymore. Never seen it enforced or anyone follow it. Might be because it's mounted up high and no one sees it.
