    Happy Sunday everyone,

    Hows the spotty bite been lately for you guys? The bite off the rocks from harbor island and shelter island have been somewhat nonexistent. I switched my focus to harbors and docks and been getting a lot of luck lately. Just wondering if this is the same trend for you guys.

    Here is my fishing report for this morning adventure;
    Coronado Island Harbor 7am to roughly 815am landed 1 small halibut , and 10 + spotties :)using various colored drop shot zoom flukes. Compared to yesterday fishing off the rocks of harbor and shelter island catching 1 spotty for a span of 2 hours:banghead:.

    In my opinion, and for the time being, I believe the spotties are pushed into deeper water or in safe havens(docks, harbors ,etc).

    Instead of pics I made a small vid, of my catches . Hope you enjoy and find this post useful :D

    Cant wait till the trout season to start !

    I have had similar findings, fish have been tight on structure, docks and bridge pilings. We got into some deeper water fish from the skiff a few weeks ago. I been on the float tube or skiff, it's been pretty hard up from shore lately from what I hear...

    Nice, thanks for that report. Some of my friends find it difficult to get bit from shore no structure .

    Tight lines

    Shytty!

    Next question?

    Jk man, it's been slow, but it's slow this time of year every year. Playin hard to get. Much easier from a skif. Good times are only a few weeks away, I encourage everyone to hit the afternoon minus tides to see what I'm referring to.

    Hook in water 6am first cast fish on nonstop dinky spots till about 7:30 then it shut down. Vacation island mission bay. Much more action than last weekend. Good times

    Hey Rodney,

    Thank you so much for sharing your report! Has anyone (security, boat owners, etc.) ever given you a hard time about fishing near the boats or the docks? I would definitely be interested in checking out these cool new fishing spots for me :)

    Thanks for info Rodney. Curious, what lb test and what size weight are using on the dropshot ? Kinda new to the drop shot rigging and Saltwater fishing in general.

    This is what I use and it's lighter than most people use. I run 20lbs suffix 832 to about 15' or so of 10lbs fluoro with a 1/0 owner mosquito drop shot hook about 12-18" up from a 3/8oz weight

    Cool vid Rod! Always enjoy your stuff. Huge fan of the drop shot in both bays. Hooked into a decent spottie this morning first cast around some docks before sunlight.
    While I feel confident in my set up, always curious to know how others are rigging it too
