Well my brother did it again. He caught an even bigger shovelnose than last time. This one was 57 inches! We also caught a couple of bat rays, 5 shovelnose, and 3 smoothhounds. All caught on fresh sardines that I obtained from the boats at the shelter Island boat ramp.

Hard pulling fish! Bobber , I have eaten them, back when we ate everything we caught! They are actually pretty good. If you slice through the tail section, you get three nice chunks of meat. I have eaten Leos too, not recommended!

Recently saw a catch and cook video with a leo and they said it was surprisingly good. The meat was very white, and they bled it right away. Was the one you tried bled properly? Cyborgstarfish mentioned he has liked and disliked them.
