Not a fan of the Sweet Beaver though I know it catches bass. So as usual I try to find uses for parts of soft plastic lures and this is what I came up with after fusing them with a candle flame/ solder iron:

You never know when it comes to lure shape and action and the above will definitely move different than the original. Hope the weather holds out so I can test them.

That is awesome. The ziplocs of old plastics I have may have renewed life.

No, a candle - much easier to hold the ends of the two parts to be fused together, melting them slightly one at a time. The soldering iron is to smooth the seam were the parts are joined so it's strong and won't tear. Many of my homemade lures are fusions:
    The one above:

This one with claw % grub body fused (bass / crappie):

Hand pour fused to a grub body:

    ...same as this:

Kut Tail added to a grub body that is thicker than the original:

These are wacky rigged and twitched with the rod tip:

Have you used those in the last picture, they look awesome?
    Do they float?

The one with the 4 legs and straight thin tail did catch panfish and bass rigged on a 1/32 oz jig.

I tried this potential surface lure right from the mold months ago but got no bites. Maybe now is a good time.
The legs are cut from the thick part and attached to grub bodies.
