Hello all. I've lived here a few years and have the time now to learn San Diego fishing. There is lots of info here. But I am having trouble with the acronyms being used. Is there a pinned post with this info? Thanks. David.

Welcome.. I think someone here made a short list awhile back, but it’s buried in the archives somewhere. Just ask.. Someone will chime in and help you out. Worst that can happen is some smart azz might reply with “ Midshipmen “.

Thanks for replying. I've gotten used to the general population's use of PB, OB, TJ for locations but when you start with piers, beaches, lure names and member's initials(for read worthy posts), it's overwhelming. I belong to several other forums and while the same shorthand is used, there's usually a permanent page that's pinned to refer to.

While SD fish is smaller than a lot of other forums, we are friendlier (just stay out of the lounge LOL), so feel free to ask. LC = lucky craft is one that comes to mind.

If you do venture into the lounge bring a helmet. Gets weird in there man. Was there something in particular you were puzzled with?

In completely unrelated news, I now feel sorely tempted to write an entire post using nothing but slang and acronyms, would be hilarious... Hahahaha

I'm a senior citizen and it seems that as I age, many things are more difficult. New things as well as familiar things. It's frustrating on a personal level, as I've always been pretty sharp until I hit my 60s. That's life. Enjoy the young years. I did.

Years ago I saw a posting on the fridge at work (yes, a physical piece of paper) a funny joke/story about someone being interviewed about cliches ?? or something like that and every answer from the guy was a cliche. Really funny - but could never find it again searching google.
