Packed the rig and ready up to take the boys for some "social isolation" out in the valley.

the same. We put in over 24 hours, Saturday noon through Sunday 3pm. Fished it hard.

Gorgeous weather with sunny days in the mid 70s. Canals were hit and miss with some holding lots of water and others dry. Drains were fuller on average than I've seen them in the past but again, had to search around for spots. The highline was pretty shallow and gin clear.
Was hoping for some small mouth action. Thanks Mogambo for the help. But we only managed one small one.

We were really out for some whiskers. Let the competition begin! Handicapped myself with the wife's pink rod and reel.

Old man still out-worked 'em! LOL! Ended up getting the cooler respectably filled and now we'll have some catfish for the next few weeks.

Enjoyed the beautiful weather and getting away from the circus for a while.
Sorry for the sideways pictures. Couldn't figure out why or how to straighten them.
    Cheers everybody! Be safe!

    No checkpoint and no problems.

Took the 8 out to the 111. 115 to the 8 back. Clear sailing. Tons of folks coming back with sand toys too. Not even a stop at border patrol on the 8.

    And the final result is:

    13EBD8EF-171B-47C6-A1BB-C875AC4CE1C5.jpeg
Fried fresh catfish fillet, baked beans, cheese grits, and a couple of hush puppies. Splash of spice and a cold single malt red to wash it down.
    Life is good tonight!!!

So much fishing to do! We move around most of the night, fishing canals the whole time. Holed up for a few hours at a reservoir, but we fish hard and wait to sleep another day!
