Wasn't going to bother with a report, but figured I might as well post something... Hit the desert with the girlie Fri night and Sat morning, think she ended with 12, I might have done 50ish? Daytime bite was actually on for once, so I actually got some footage for the tube.. saved a couple carp for a buddy's lady (fermented carp? no idea), kept a largemouth and a striper the young lady gut hooked. A few bluegill got on the morning bite, quite a few smallmouth in the mix this time too...

I always closely check out any bass you catch because I love to fish for them.....and when I was really little, I used to actually wish my parents had a little drain ditch in the backyard that I could put bass in and fish in it(like in the pic with the bass). I told my dad we could dig it and have it from one end of the yard to the other and put cement it in so the water stays there like a pool. Crazy eh? Every time I saw a cement drainage ditch when my parents would drive somewhere, I would imagine how neat it would be to fill it with water and fish in it. Ok...I made my point...sorry to ramble on so much. Thanks for posting and tight lines Coach. :)

Lots of bass in those things, and out there they literally have thousands of miles of small water. Our local ditches don't support them nearly as well, since flows here pale in comparison: that puny thing is a couple miles long at least, if you can believe that, and it drains into a huge swamp that dumps out into the Salton. Unlimited reservoir (more or less) of fish that can populate that tiny spot...

Good job. I was out there that weekend. I'm surprised I didn't bump into you. It was as good as it gets. Even the highline bit a little. Day and night bit pretty good. Once the sun went down you couldn't keep them off the hook. Caught at least one at almost every stop all weekend, day or night. I am trying to get down there again before the window closes.

If I could rate stars for the quality(amount of bullsheet) of a fishing tale I would rate that story of yours 10 stars!!!

It’s really funny because everything I said was actually true and you have no idea how much I loved fishing since I was a little kid. I thought about fishing every day and even planned, dug and installed a pond put in my backyard when I bought my house. Of course it’s nothing like I imagined when I was a kid(cement drainage looking thing) but nothing in what I said in my comment was BS or worth 10 freaking stars as being BS as you mentioned. I guess you decided to take a crack at me to be funny and say what I wrote was BS.
Well tsugg...you are not funny as usual and
    I give you 10 stars
    Unknown-1.jpeg
for making a stupid freaking comment.

I dug a huge pit when I was six and filled it with water, then put crayfish in it, lol. Caught mosquito fish out of the creek for the makeshift pond too...

I like that....I actually just finished my comment that you replied to. I was on my phone and the part you saw was incomplete as I was helping move some furniture and accidentally hit the post button. Anyway Coach...sounds like a fun pond you made and with crawfish too. :)

Yep....some the little green ones could pinch pretty hard. I did feel the pinch of more than a few red ones ...but not those giant red ones that looked like a small lobster....I was afraid of those guys and never messed around with them....ha ha

Hey tsugg ....maybe you make another stupid not-funny comment on my getting pinched by crawdads and give me 10 stars saying my comment was BS since you are so all-knowing about everything. :)

Werfless and I can help you build it. He has experience with not only years of fishing in small waters, but digging a pond when he was young and I have some pond experience and with the help of my imagination it could be the coolest drainage ditch west of Imperial Valley to catch bass in. :)

Found this online.........This is kind of what I was thinking when I was as a kid(never thought about it going into other yards though..ha ha)
