I’m hearing next a Tuesday but nothing official. Barrett will open on the 8th for tubes, Yaks and shore fishing. No rentals for now.

Yah, that will be a haul all the way into Hauser. Kayak folks with the mirage drive will have a huge advantage!!!

im gonna kick all the way to the back first thing in the morning and let the wind push me back to main lake in the afternoon. I hope everyone is working on their fitness because we are going to need it. I hope everyone looks out for one another, getting a cramp in a tube or someone not fit enough to kick far will need help. Lets keep an eye on our fellow tubers.

I remember B Ruck and I did that many years back, all the way to the back of Hauser. Except the wind changed direction on us and blew gail force The wrong way, like a mo fo! It took us 3+ hours of head down, no talking and straight hammering to make it to Pigs by dark. I still have nightmares about that day. Gets some potassium in ya and bring some pickle juice. And yes, for Barrett it was worth it.. but I’m too old for that. We should work out a taxi pick up service with Lori/Jose and crew. 10 bucks a pick up? They make money and we fish deeper in the arms... By the way, the paddle drills are legit! Cheers! Tools

I’d pay twice that. The wind in the morning blow west but about 11 turn East and that means you kicking against the wind all the way home.

Okay, I'll say it. I think eliminating boats and just having tubes and kayaks STINKS. I've been fishing Barrett off and on since 98 which adds up to about 100 times. A big part of the fun was exploring new waters in Hauser and Pine. Now the main lake will be mobbed with tubers and kayakers. Pigs Point will be mobbed. Gone are the days of taking little kids, older people and newcomers fishing. Heck, charge lazy and rich old dudes like me $120 for a boat and I'll gladly pay it.

They will have boats back up and running in no time.
Tubers and Yaks will have the lake all t themselves. I love it, I'll be one of those tubers

Can someone explain what this means in English. It appears to say only one person per household? What about my kid in his kayak?

To allow as many people as possible the opportunity to fish Barrett Lake, there is a limit of 1 reservation per household on the first day of onsale for each month. This limit will be strictly enforced. Any duplicate orders with the same name, address, or credit card will be canceled without notice. On the second day or later, If there are still openings, patrons may purchase additional reservations.

NOTE: Each reservation is valid for 1 person. Two reservation is valid for 2 people. Customer can also purchase an extra pass the day of the event at the gate.

Each tube/kayak ticket is good for 2 people. Just pay Jose at the gate when the train starts to roll for the extra person. They limit the number of tickets you can buy per address on credit card to one ticket.

I hope you are right about getting the boats back up and running. Maybe one of you guys can get the inside scoop from Jose.
