I wanted to know what weight/type of anchor other kayak fishermen are using on the local lakes when it’s windy? I have a 3lb grappling style anchor and it doesn’t seem to work for sh*t ha. I just drift and it won’t set. I was thinking a mushroom style or kettlebell? But not sure how heavy. Thanks in advance.

    Tight lines!

Do you have chain attached to the anchor?

I use a 5# weight fom my gym set, x2 if I want to stay in the exact place. Drop one, paddle, drop the next then tie off tight. I usually tie off to the tules though if I can.

Thanks. I havnt tried the dual anchor. I dont have a chain just a rope attached to the anchor with a carabiner.

With the demand for weights right now it looks like I’m just gonna deal with drifting awhile longer ha. I went to a used sporting goods store and they wanted over $20 for a 8lb kettleball!! No thanks!!
