When do the Keeper size Perch start coming out in the surf? I mean I know you can keep them but I mean something worth taking the time to filet.

Typically I start seeing big perch in close around late November

Fall and winter for sure. I personally like my perch fried whole.

E362054E-9D7A-4675-B07B-10218B3A1145.jpeg Supposed to be winter, but I only saw dinks last year. My best perch this year have come from June to August. Not normal from what I hear, but it is what it is.

It wasn't easy, but I found 1 today.
High tide 09:00, caught at 09:39 on sand crabs. Current was strong, salad wasn't too bad. Nobody on the beach. IMG_20190927_093904.jpg

Only fish I caught for a 90 min session. I think I had 1 maybe 2 other hits. It was dead today.

Best one I've seen this season. Patience paid off.

    Found another keeper this morning.
High tide 05:32 (4.72 ft), low tide 09:10 (4.40ft). Water was fairly calm, no salad, no crabs.
    Caught at 09:16 on bloodworm

    Bonus catch at 09:59

Big croakers were running in the waves and beans laughed at me up in the skinny water. Felt like an amateur chasing the big fish. Werfless claims fish are stupid...they out-smarted me today.

Real deal - I usually have a couple with me whenever I'm fishing the surf.
