All the bluefin. Kill them. Go out, drop gear on them, learn the feeling of how hard you can pull on a fish before the line breaks.

Do it. This is from last week, I held off on writing it as I was to uncomfortable to write about it. I’ve been pretty fking edgy recently, figuring out what drives me to keep me motivated, It’s kinda scary putting that together.

So this guy I know, Kam_Walsh98 needed the bluefin blasting experience. I decided to go full send and got him to go on the Mission Belle with me. The goal was to get him to experience pulling on bluefin, and to test something for myself. He got hooked up. Lost a few in a row. Turns out a hook Ive trusted to pull on cows wasn’t doing it? Switched him up to a finesse hook a trust to my heart and he landed a few. I was stoked. I put my body to test and my theory and it worked out. Landed a bunch, missed a few yellowfin in the mix, and hooked and handed some. Mr. Kam starting landing a few, and then figured out the limits of his rig with no mono. I wonder what he thinks now in its completeness. Answer me I know you read this.

The boat got boat limits and then crew limits in two stops. One on a gnarly 30lb bite and one a sweet slide chew.

Then Mr. Kam dropped a sinker rig on a big boy school with a rod wrapped by K-Bo Smack . He dropped a sardine on them, and realized he got bit. 60lb, blue label to izorline first strong, 80 MC. 40N two speed with a 60lb cam and a 800XXH designed with balls to the wall rail rod lift for 60lb. He beat it in like 20 minutes, guess he decided to vent his anger on something instead of the hunt. It weighed 120lbs dressed. I’m still stoked for him, way to go dude.

Outstanding, Kam_Walsh98 congrats on killing the 120#er.

Also great to read a successful "field test" report for SN:004. How did it feel on the rail?

Bring out your laser guided, twin turbo, super beef cow killer and your buddy goes and breaks it in for you. 140lb fish in 20 mins ! That’s a wrecking machine right there. Well done.. and congrats to you too K-Bo Smack.

Not jealous at all, I’m stoked. I care more about it being used to have a good time. I don’t think I could pull on 60lb for that long anyways right now. I had SN003 on standby, missed my shot.

Amazing day overall that definitely shattered my expectations of getting skunked or getting maybe one shot. Strange that those mustad demon circle hooks kept pulling out; I thought I just sucked until it started happening to Cary as well. I’ll also concede that the straight braid to fluoro rig with buttoned down drag is not ideal for keeping hooks in smaller tunas’ mouths.
K-Bo Smack I noticed your handle on the custom wrap and I can definitely say that rod is a beast of a stick and did its job perfectly. It was able to get the fish moving upwards anytime it wasn’t running and might have started sending me down the dangerous rabbit hole of realizing why nice setups cost the amount that they do.

    Nice jobs boys.

I got my limit of 2 BFT on size 2 mustard regular j hooks and 30# Izorline triple XXX no fluoro. Granted the fish were 25-30# but I’ve had better corner hooks that with circle hooks. Ask captain Steve on MB and he doesn’t like circles for flyline.

The belly hooked baits seem to work best.

Steve and I have conceded on a long topshot of a super stretchy clear flouro, and the collar hooked bait.

Where do you find super stretchy clear fluoro?

Collar hooked worked as well. I caught on both but for that day belly a little better

Probably sunk the bait out more then the collar hook. The collar hook effects bait the least overall, I think. Live bait is different.

I one point I got bit just winding a bait in as fast as I could.

I failed to answer your question. Sunline FC Sniper. Like a casting distance and some change of it. This stuff is… well simply put the best. Stretchy like mono but it’s got some great abrasion resistance.
