    a little bit pricey
The Solo Skiff has an MSRP of $ 1,850, plus shipping / destination cost (shipping to the retailer) This averages $125
    plus a 5hp motor

Very top heavy too which means it isn't stable - I would think.

true.. A new motor would add another $800 - $1200 depending on what you get.

Yep - Picked it up today! Boat show price was $1750 - no destination charge. Its at Blue Sea Fabrication at Dana Landing right now - tomorrow they will laser measure all the deck surfaces and hatches for SeaDek EVA foam. My Caribbean Blue/Blue Camo material arrived on Monday, and it will have some custom engraving of the Baja Peninsula and my forum name done on the fore deck piece. I'll be spending the day tooling around Mission Bay on Saturday breaking in the motor and enjoying the ride.

I sold a high end target rifle and got some serious coin for it to finance all this, so since I had a few extra bucks I went with a 6hp Honda. The Tohatsu's are great motors, but the Honda has a better build quality and certain design features that I felt was worth the extra cost, not to mention the best warranty in the business.

Just picked up my Solo from Blue Seas, and the only thing that went through my head was OMFG! It turned out even better than I imagined it would, and that blue camo really pops out in the sun. At the last minute I decided that I needed CF numbers to match, and there was just enough material left over from the sheet to do it - it really ties everything together - I cannot wait for Saturday to drop the Honda on it. Yea, it was not cheap to do at 400 bucks, but it was so worth it. The deck is really comfortable under the feet, and will deaden the sound of any banging of rods and gear.

For the life of me I can't find my GoPro - its in the house someplace...

Took the Solo out for its maiden voyage for motor break in today. Dropped in at the South Shores ramp near Sea World and spent a couple hours cruising the bay. Really enjoy the boat - no problem standing on the hatch and fishing or paddling. Because of the break in schedule, I could only run to half throttle until hour two, but thats when I ran into a problem. Ran through a thick mat of eel grass which sucked into the water inlet where I couldn't see it - when I beached the boat at ski island the motor was vapor locked and wouldn't restart. I figured I needed the exercise anyway, so I did the stand up paddle thing and headed back to the ramp. It actually does not paddle too bad, but the three miles took me two hours - stopping every half hour to try the engine. Engine tried to start with a few sputters occasionally but just wouldn't catch.
So here I am stand up paddling along next to Sea World when one of their shows lets out, and before I know it I must have had 50 cameras pointed at me - it really is a sexy looking boat...
When I got home and put the motor on the stand it started with just one pull. My fault really for running it for so long, using very high octane avgas (lower octane would not have vapor locked), and not catching the eelgrass clog when I should have.
It was nice that I could load the boat back into the truck by myself using the ramps and pulley system, and I've come up with a plan to fine tune the process further.
