    How many of you use this knot?

    Albright Special

    How to tie the Albright Special Knot. The Albright Knot is one of the most reliable knots for joining lines of greatly unequal diameters or different materials such as monofilament to braided line. Many experienced fly fishermen prefer the Albright to attach their fly line to leader material, some even going so far as to cut off a factory welded loop to use the Albright! It certainly is the go-to choice knot for tying dacron backing to fly line for most fly fishermen. It is easy to tie and should be in every angler’s knot arsenal.

    I use the RP knot but that one looks almost as easy to tie.

    RP/ John Collins knot or Bimini twist to the worm knot for larger stuff. The RP John Collins is a modified albright.

    @aquaholic

    How light is your braid? I find if it's light (6 - 10#) I need more turns in knots.

    I use the double Albright for 6 pound braid and a blood knot for everything else.

    I use the Tony Pena, It's really thin, lays on the spool well and goes through the guides without a problem.

    Best knot from braid to Mono or braid to Floro. is the FG Knot.

    I don't use that not but, but a I haven't heard his name in a while, I had the privilege to fish with him for Halibut on his boat down in Mexico, it was a great trip, I remember he used very thin line.

    I use two, the RP which is sweet. And another that I dont know the name of. It does not like braid to mono though....braid to braid and braid to floro no issue.
