Whats going on SD fish!!! Hope everyone was able to wet a line over the weekend. I wanted to give everyone a quick update of my sunday on the water with TexasRig . We started off our morning around 730 and blasted off to LJ kelp in hopes of finding the Bonito boils that were everywhere the previous weekend. Sea state was nice, the water looked like oil and the swell was very minimal. Not alot of surface action anywhere near by and it appeared that most of the kayakers were bottom fishing, so we decided to motor around for a bit until we found some good markings on the fish finder. We found a solid looking spot, dropped anchor, and fished away for atleast 3 hours catching a nice variety of rockfish, whitefish, Calicos and a few sheepies on squid strips. I tossed a colt sniper every now and again and got a bonito and a mack. Rigged up the mack on a dropper loop and let it soak for awhile with no luck surprisingly. I reeled in my mack and re casted to a different spot, turned my clicker on and within 30 seconds my reel was buzzing away. I pulled up another massive Calico that definitely beat my PB from last weekend. All in all a great day on the water and props to TexasRig for putting us on the fish!!!
