Fished pyramid NV for a couple of days this week with a couple of diehard fly guys. Was told they only eat beetles and nymphs so took it as a challenge to catch them on the jig. Figured they are trout they should eat it. Got a 9, 5’s, 3’s and a couple of smaller fish. Fish all over the beaches. Not wide open but held my own against the long rods. Really cold and a hard core fishery for only the die hards. Can’t wait for next year. 13lb was our groups best fish. Get up there if you like catch and release fishing for giants

Any recommendations on jigs or other non-fly lures? Headed out there next month for the first time. Thanks!

Color did not seem to matter but liked brown and blacks. Pink was good color for me but just throw it a lot more because of all the shi*^* I was getting fro friends. Just bring an assortment of head weights for wind. Try a beetle on dropper loop with jig on the bottom. Bet a old school fly and bobber with water and any sort of wooly booger would get bit as wll
