I am planning to head over to LHC the day after Thanksgiving. I have never been there, and would be happy for any info that could be provided. What sort of fishing can I expect at that time? Best lures, techniques, etc? I would also like a hotel recommendation. We do not need anything fancy. A convenient location would be most important.

My wife and I will be meeting another couple over there. We two guys will fish from our kayaks.

    Thank you,

    Paul

Sounds like you could keep your eyes peeled for birds etc and toss the jerkbait. Maybe ask around and see what the redear are doing too. One of a kind fishery there, by far the largest of their kind on earth... of course night catfish and striper on cut bait. And if you don't mind fishing carp, that lake has some freakishly huge ones too...

Seems I remember an area in the South end of the lake called the Bill Williams that has a lot of toulies. Also you can get maps of where they have placed artificial structure.

We have stayed at this place and really enjoyed it...

I have camped on the CA side and fished out of a Portabote, and off the shore, for a few small and large mouth bass... I think My Grandson got a small striper as well... I don't remember what lures we tossed..

The water temp will be alot cooler than you would expect, early snow runoff and cold night time temps bring it down pretty fast! The water should be very clear by then, fish a dropshot a little deeper in the rocks and you'll pick up some nice smallies along with LMBs! Crankbaits and jerkbaits can also pickup some fish. Small jigs can work in the rocks also. There may be some stripers running around about then. Be ready for any weather, could be 80, or I've also seen it in the 40s with bone chilling winds that time of year! I love Havasu and Parker in the late fall!

Thank you to all who have provided information. Unfortunately, my supervisor at work denied (without any explanation) my request to take the two days off necessary for me to make the trip.
