I remember it being lower in the 1970s. I don't think the water was even visible from the Del Dios highway back then.

Has anyone seen evidence of repair work actually happening on the dam?

Absolutely incredible there isn’t 10 guys standing around watching one person work. At least they are on it

Is extending and widening the launch ramp also on the to do list?

The city would make people a whole lot happier if they kept it open from Halloween- February.

The City will pump water back in from Olivenhein via the San Diego Canal to allow recreation once the dam repair is done.

Plenty of cracks in that old *** dam for sure. Guess the City is not smart enough to kill 2 birds with 1 stone (add to the ramp) You would think a light bulb would go off in somebody's head.

Now they keep the lake at the minimum launch level with supplemental aqueduct water from Olivenhain. They would probably just use a longer ramp as an excuse to lower the water even more.

Also, why would they not open it up to shore fishing or maybe even kayak and tube fishing? The ground which was sinking mud is now covered with grass, perfectly safe to walk on.

Which is what created the good ole days of trophy bass fishing at Hodges in the 80’s. That and bass on stringers. Cause and effect…
