Plan to head up to Morena this weekend and walk around looking for carp. Nothing serious a flyrod and a spinning rod and some fresh air. Invite yourself if interested.

We were out there a few weeks ago for a few days. The carp were thick towards to East End or the right of the dock. Lots of them!

I like carping with a fly rod
Question: plan to move a lot, or settle in one area? If I went, trying to figure how to pack
    Also, waders?
    They still open at 9am?

"Nothing serious", "flyrod", and "carp" don't belong in the same phrase, IMO.

I'd love to join you, but can't this weekend. Morena is definitely on my target list for carp on the fly, so looking forward to a report and a future outing.

For me carp on fly means watching the bite. if i cant see the fishes face, ill probably just use bait and a spinning rod, but to each his own

waders could be a good idea, sometimes theres a big sandy creek to cross or shoreline weeds to avoid

I actually like walking around and getting exercise all day, but to each his own

also, i dont do anything in the early morning these days cause i work at night

    just sayin

Been going up the hill the last 4 weekends. Trophy bass hunting(both lakes) and getting owned. I had one giant girl show herself and give up her location, but try as I may I couldn't get her to bite all day. I don't have what it takes to fish for giants anymore. It takes too much effort. I'm old and lazy. Saw some other low landers up there bassin.

This weekend I had 4 days off. I went big one day, then I cut myself some slack and switched it up. Hiked around with the 6wt doing the bass and carp combo. Day 1- Caught 7 bass between 13-20" and no carp. Day 2- Caught 3 bass and 3 carp. The first spot I went to I got 3 14-15" bass in 30 minutes, but I was attracting too much attention. Everybody was subtly scooting their lawn chairs closer and closer to me and cleverly angling their cast in my direction, so I left and went carpin all day. I refuse to partake of a hot bite in front of strangers.

    I appreciate you guys.

2 of those bass were stabbed in the brain, gutted, and stringered for a while before the photo was taken. Thats why the look lifeless, they are.
