Plenty of carp, last I heard. A few nice bass, not in great volume, maybe other fish people don't talk about.. a little more specific of a question might not hurt any..

I was there last week seeking large mouths to no avail. Plenty of big carp rolling, though.

Is bow fishing permitted for carp?

No bow fishing at Morena. The lake has tried to get it approved several times in the past. The lakes you can bow fish for carp are: El Cap, Hodges, Lower Otay, Sutherland, and San Vee.

I wish bow fishing for carp only WERE permitted. I've heard carp eat bass eggs on the beds which, if true, would go a long way to explaining the low bass population.

Bass eat lots of baby carp, so there is that... That lake has a lot more big bass than anywhere else around here as near as I know
